The Second Declension
Gender: Masculine and neuter. Genetive Ending: -i
The following are tables of the endings for first declension nouns. The masculine example is servus, -i, slave; and
templum, -i, temple for neuters.

Notes and Further Info
- Masculine second decl. nouns ending in -us in the nominative, like servus above, take
the endings -us, -e in the nom. and voc. as in the tables. Nouns not ending thus in the nom
take no endings in these two cases singular. All other forms take endings.
An example is puer, -i, boy. Since it does not end in -us, it declines as follows:
Nom and voc sg: puer. All other forms (including nom and voc pl) are formed normally.
